Electrician in Waterdown

Waterdown, once a village in Flamborough, has been part of the City of Hamilton since 2001 and is bordered on the south and east by the Niagara Escarpment. It is the urban area of a mostly rural ward. Most lots in the old village were laid out in the first half of the twentieth century, and the City's plan for the area notes its pre-1960s buildings and mature trees. Waterdown has 121 designated heritage properties, most of them in the Mill Street Heritage Conservation District. The City says the population has almost doubled since 1996, to more than 20,000 people.

Alectra Utilities delivers the power to the old village and central Waterdown and issues the bill. The oldest houses in the village may still have knob-and-tube wiring or a 60 amp or 100 amp service, both of which insurers tend to ask about. The City has separate plans for Waterdown North, which sits north of Parkside Drive, and Waterdown South, about 180 hectares in the east end. Many homes, new builds included, have no garage circuit for an electric vehicle (EV) charger, and every charger we install starts with a load calculation.

We handle wiring repairs, panel upgrades and EV chargers anywhere in Waterdown. For a panel upgrade we look after the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) permit and inspection, and we book the meter disconnect and reconnect with Alectra. Our team has done thousands of jobs across Hamilton and Niagara, and our work carries a lifetime workmanship warranty.
