Electrician in Dundas

Dundas sits in the Dundas Valley and was a town of its own until January 1, 2001, when it became part of the City of Hamilton. It was incorporated as a town in 1847 and now has 97 designated heritage properties, most of them in the Cross-Melville Heritage Conservation District. In May 2026 City Council designated the Melville-Park West Heritage Conservation District, 331 properties between Melville Street and Park Street West. In the Melville Street area, most buildings went up between 1870 and 1930, when Dundas was a manufacturing hub and its industrial workers needed housing. About 80 percent of that area was built by 1930, and little was added after the Second World War.

Dundas homes are served by Alectra Utilities, which delivers the power and issues the bill. A house built by 1930 may still have knob-and-tube wiring, and many older homes run on a 60 amp or 100 amp service meant for far fewer appliances. Insurers often ask about both. We repair older wiring, upgrade panels and install electric vehicle (EV) chargers across Dundas. A panel upgrade needs an Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) permit and inspection, and we take out the permit and book the meter disconnect and reconnect with Alectra. Our team has more than 20 years of experience across Hamilton and Niagara, and the business is family-owned.
