Electrician in Caledonia

Caledonia is on the Grand River in northern Haldimand County, at the crossroads of Argyle Street and Caithness Street. The County's Official Plan calls Caledonia, once a separate town, its largest and fastest growing urban community. From 2016 to 2021 its population centre grew 23.9 percent, to 12,179 people, and 17.3 percent of its homes were built in those years. Another 13.5 percent date from 1960 or before, and 20.8 percent from 1961 to 1980. North Caledonia has many of the community's heritage buildings, and the former Town Hall dates from 1857.

In 2015 Hydro One took on the customers of Haldimand County Hydro, whose licence covered the county, Caledonia included. For a bigger panel in an older home, Hydro One disconnects and reconnects the meter, and we do the upgrade under an Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) permit. The Official Plan puts much of Caledonia's growth to 2051 on the north side. A new house there may lack the 240 volt circuit a Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charger runs on, so we start with a load calculation. In an outage, an automatic transfer switch hands essential circuits to a standby generator.

The Grand River Conservation Authority lists Caledonia among flood-prone communities, and a January 2026 Flood Watch included areas of Caledonia. If the main panel goes under water, the County says a qualified electrician must clean, dry and test it. We hold ESA licence 7018179, and our team has carried out thousands of jobs across the service area.
